Many events occur leading up to the Savannah St. Patrick's Day Parade, including the "Greening of the Fountain," Tara Feis, Tybee Island Parade, Celtic Cross Mass & Ceremony, William Jasper Ceremony, the Investiture of the Parade Grand Marshall, the Savannah Irish Festival and the pre-parade St. Patrick's Day Mass.
The Irish Festival is the earliest of these events, occuring in mid-February and the last event before the parade is the St. Patrick's Day Mass, which occurs at 8am on March 17th -- two hours before the parade begins.
