The city of Savannah is famous for many things.   More recently famous books (Midnight in the Garden..) and famous people (Johnny Mercer and Paula Deen) have brought the spotlight of attention on our wonderful southern city.

But one of Savannah's most notable achievements was its designation as a "National Historic Landmark" which was granted to Savannah's Historic District, which is the core of downtown Savannah.
