Spend A Day Shopping (& Eating) on Broughton Street!

Park your car and forget about it. Today you’re walking the street! Broughton Street, that is. This will be an eventful day of Savannah shopping suitable for all tastes and budgets.

To get started with this full day, fuel up early on with a locally roasted craft coffee at The Coffee Fox. If coffee isn’t your cup of tea (pun intended), this coffee house can serve you a lovely chai latte or a creamy horchata. You can also try their homemade granola or kolache to give you even more energy for the day ahead.

For an eclectic shopping experience, no place in Savannah can compare to The Paris Market & Brocante. The Paris Market is a local favorite offering two floors of hard-to-find and never-seen-before doodads and whatsits. This store offers an impressive mix of furniture, lighting, unique knickknacks and gifts. Here you may find whimsical stationary, a brass antler necklace hanger or a sea-inspired throw pillow. Or maybe you prefer a full-length iron mirror and an intricately detailed settee. Try out a fragrant lotion. Check the cases for antique charms and handmade baubles. Dig through boxes of old photographs. If the selection is overwhelming, take a breather at the tiny café at the back of the store. Don’t leave without glancing over some of the notes people have stuck up on a wall downstairs. In the words of Forrest Gump, “You never know what you’re gonna get.” You may read a private love note or discover a little known travel tip about Savannah.

Clothing and accessories options on Broughton Street meet any fashion-sense or budget. There are high-end shops like Kate Spade and Marc by Marc Jacobs, classic staples such as Banana Republic and Gap in the old Kress Building, and even eco-friendly fashion from Civvie’s New & Recycled Clothing. Upscale boutiques for men and women are aplenty. The street also houses the budget boutique fab’rik. For the free spirited, there is hippie-inspired fashion at Loose Lucy’s. Or if you like a deal you can head over to Cherry Picked Consignments for lightly used designer garb. Browse through a few of these before you fill up on lunch.

You can’t come to the Georgia coast and not experience the fresh seafood! Why not eat lunch at the newly opened Chive Sea Bar & Lounge? The atmosphere here is lush and upscale while remaining lighthearted and comfortable. Start your feast with a cocktail and an appetizer of She Crab Soup with hand picked dungeness and blue crab with a splash of sherry. Delight in a main course of Chive Mussels or Crab Cake with a side of fried green tomato.

If your taste buds are chic, but you prefer a more casual atmosphere (or you just don’t like seafood), Papillote is a great choice for gourmet to go. In traditional French style, the bistro prides itself on its freshly baked breads and other tasty treats. They’re a favorite of the Savannah lunch crowd and once gone, they’re gone! Celebrate your buttery Croque Monsieur and delicious Bouchée a la Reine with a glass of fine French wine. Save room for a classic dessert—crème brulée.

For a lighter fare in a casual atmosphere, the Kayak Kafé offers a selection of fresh and natural cuisine. They serve fresh, quality ingredients to create mouth-watering tacos, burritos, quesadillas, salads and paninis. Here you can get your local shrimp in taco form! This place ranks highly on Urbanspoon and Trip Advisor for a reason. What’s more, it all comes wrapped in biodegradable containers.

You’ll probably want to burn off some of those lunch calories. A good way to do that is by trying out the furniture at 24e Design Co. They specialize in contemporary furniture, interior design, and accessories. Their selection is eclectic and worldly so you’re sure to find something to suit your needs.

It’s hot and humid in Savannah. Luckily, there are plenty of options for keeping cool along Broughton Street. There is frozen yogurt at La' Berry Frozen Yogurt Cafe, unique seasonal flavors at Leopold's Ice Cream, a refreshing iced peach tea at The Savannah Tea Room, or Sweet Lane for a bottle of water. The iced coffee at Sylvester & Co. Savannah is excellent too!

Though the day is winding down, it’s not over yet. You have one last stop before you head back your car. Grab some hand made Citrus Splash bar soap and a bath fizzie from Nourish. These products are all natural and irresistible with something for everyone. There’s even soap for your dog!

As you can see, you can’t possibly see all there is to see on this street in one day. You’ll just have to come back! Forgot where you parked your car? You can always just stay and shop some more!
