Local Developer To Renovate Drayton Towers

What is currently the most unsightly building in Savannah may soon be renovated into luxury condos. The Drayton Tower Apartments, located on Liberty Street just east or Drayton, is a twelve story building first constructed more than 50 years ago.

It's green windows, for years, have made the apartment building stand out on Savannah's skyline -- and not in a good way. However, recently the building sold for nearly ten million dollars becomeing the biggest dollar amount ever spent on residential housing in Savannah, Georgia.

A local developer plans to restore the lobby and all of the windows on Drayton Towers and put each floor up for sale as condos for investors. Investors could choose to sell an entire floor or break each floor up into multiple condo units.
