22nd Annual Savannah Seafood Festival Features Jeanie Johnston Tall Ship
The Savannah Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Savannah Waterfront Association announce the 22nd Annual Savannah Seafood Festival. This year's event will take place May 2-4 on Historic River Street in downtown Savannah and feature sensational seafood, entertainment, arts & crafts and a special appearance by the Jeanie Johnston - Ireland's replica famine tall ship.
Festival goers can dine in at one of the outstanding restaurants located on River Street. Menus vary from shrimp and steak to burgers and crab cakes. If you do not want a sit-down meal, take to the street and dine at one of the tents located along the river to sample some of River Street's seafood specialties Days of delightful dining are enhanced with music from The Embers, The Original Tams, and The Crabettes. The entertainment continues with a Beach Party Bash including the Puppet People, best Hawaiian shirt limbo, beach music and more. Visit with over 50 artists from around the region displaying hand-made items including jewelry, pottery, photography, art work and unique crafts.
The Jeanie Johnston tall ship will also be in port for tours. Discover the tale of great humanity, remarkable courage and pioneering spirit on the part of Irish people fleeing the dreaded famine.
